For those of you who have been following the blog since its inception, you know it was intended to be a joint project between Ellie and I as we exchanged jobs across the pond. She told tales of late press nights from New York, while I got invited to London’s most fab night out: the NTA’s. She relied heavily on Skype for love, while I met British boys over greasy English breakfasts. It was a short-lived, amazing trip that, as you know, ended with my staying a bit longer to pursue the freelance life of a writer. Ellie, on the other hand, returned to her fabulous life at, er, Fabulous, and moved in with her beau in Maida Vale. I had hoped she’d share some experiences about returning to London, but, as it often does, life got in the way. (Though, she knows the web window is always open and plans for a book are on the agenda!)
Alas, you’re stuck with me. And not just in London, but rather anywhere I may roam. (Which I’m hoping is a lotta places!) For now, though, it’s back home in NYC.
That said, I’m going to make some slight changes to the site, starting with the name. It won’t be drastic — am just moving an “s” around to make it NewS Girl About Towns — so it properly represents the next stage of the blog, which is more singular than plural. If all goes according to plan, nothing should change on your end. Am also going to make some slight design tweaks, thanks to my talented friend Tracey who did the logo and the background.
For those who continue to check in (and I hope you all do!), PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment and let me know you’re reading. Your feedback and support is encouraging and motivating.
Thank you. Hvala. Merci. Grazie. Gracias. Todah. Danke.
